MESSAGE OF SOLIDARITY AND GREETINGS TO 31^st NATIONAL CONVENTION OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF THE USA

The Communist Party of Britain sends its solidarity and warmest greetings to the 31^st National Convention of the Communist Party of the USA and our congratulations on your 100^th anniversary.

Your party has a proud history of resistance to imperialism within the world’s most powerful imperialist state.  Our party recalls the imprisonments under McCarthy and the deportation of comrades such as John Williamson back to this country.  It also remembers the role your party played in resistance to imperialist wars in Vietnam, in Africa and the Middle East, your steady defense of socialist Cuba and your key role in mobilizing against all forms of racism and for black liberation.

Today the world faces rising inter-imperialists tensions, an ecological crisis of enormous proportions and in the US an administration intent on destroying every movement for human liberation and socialism across the globe.

The battle for peaceful co-existence, education for human survival and the understanding of how to achieve a socialist alternative must be at the centre of the work of all Communists.

Dear Comrades, we wish your party every success in charting the way forward at your National Convention.

We hope we can improve the contact between our two parties in the future.
