Archive Struggles International Communist Unity

Fifty-nine communist and workers' parties met in Athens, Greece June 19-20 to exchange views on the Bush Doctrine of unending war. The parties also shared a diversity of experiences of their involvement in the massive peace and anti-globalization movements that have swept the globe.

This is the fifth meeting of the parties since 1998.

The Communist Party, USA was represented by John Bachtell, national board member and district organizer from Illinois.

While in Greece Bachtell attended the June 22 counter European Union demonstration of over 50,000 trade unionists, farmers, youth and students, peace, anti-globalization and women's organizations and immigrant workers, which was held in Thessaloniki, for the People's Weekly World.
