LOS ANGELES — Dubbed as the first comprehensive gathering of Latino leaders since the civil rights movement of the 1960s and ’70s, over 3,000 participants assembled here Sept. 6-10 at the National Latino Congreso.

The recent raids on the homes of the independence leaders in Puerto Rico by the FBI are a continuing example of U.S. imperialist arrogance over a colonial people. The CPUSA condemns the FBI raids and the attacks on journalists covering them. The only solution is the transfer of all sovereignty to the Puerto Rican nation.
