At the start of the 2023 war in Gaza, the Israeli government tried to hide their genocidal aims. While many Israeli officials declared their desire for “a second Nakba” to their domestic base, internationally they continue declaring the Israeli “Defense” Forces to be the most moral military in the world.
Emboldened by the support of the fascistic Donald Trump, the official policy of the Israeli government is to “empty Gaza” of its population. With the so-called “Generals’ Plan” and the adaptation of Trump’s plan to depopulate Gaza, there’s now no mistaking the intent of the criminal, fascist, imperialist Netanyahu regime: the Israeli Government is actively trying to starve the people of Gaza to death. No one is safe. Every man, woman, and child is suffering from the Israeli regime’s crimes.
We refuse to be silent on this matter, and we do not acquiesce to being used as shields for anti-Arab pogroms. We are determined to speak out against the cynical deployment of ‘protecting Jews,’ a craven ruse being used to trample on civil liberties here in the U.S., and to violate Palestinian sovereignty and commit genocide in Palestine.
It should come as no surprise that among the most vocal Jewish critics of Israel’s genocidal policies are elderly survivors of the Nazi genocide. Before the gas chambers, starvation and population transfer were used as weapons of genocide against us Jews. We’re damned if we let it be used against others, in our name.
With high ranking members of the Israeli armed forces actually calling for a military “final solution,” we must act now to save the people of Gaza from total annihilation.
We stand in solidarity with the refuseniks, and the growing Israeli masses who are refusing to carry out their government’s genocidal plans.
We stand with Greta Thunberg who was almost assassinated by an Israeli drone last week while she tried to board an aid ship bound for Gaza to break the blockade.
The progressive governments and peoples of the world must act now to break the Israeli stranglehold, by sanctioning the Israeli regime and cutting off its supplies of the very military equipment that the Israeli government is using for its genocidal aims in Gaza and for its apartheid rule in the West Bank and within its own borders.
We must increase our efforts to pressure the progressive elected officials in the U.S. Congress to act now and immediately and unconditionally cut off all aid to Israel.
We call on Jewish communities across the United States to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and to reject the violent ethno-nationalism of Zionism that has hijacked our history and our suffering, and commits crimes in our name. We must reject the Trump regime’s hijacking of the fight against anti-Semitism as a tool to persecute political opposition, and to justify support for Israel’s crimes.
We call on the International Criminal Court to arrest the leaders of Israel’s genocidal campaign, including Netanyahu, Smotrich, Ben-Gvir, and Lt. General Eyal Zamir, and prosecute them for their crimes against humanity.
“Never Again” is now. And history will remember who stayed silent.
