The Communist Party of California unequivocally condemns Donald J. Trump’s despicable, traitorous, and bloodthirsty statement at a Nebraska event, where he said, “Let them (Iran) take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. It would be a small price to pay…”

Trump’s fiendish rhetoric is a murderous, fascistic betrayal of the people of California and indeed the whole country. Trump openly agitated for the destruction of our cities and the slaughter of our working-class communities, which are predominantly Latino and African American. San Diego is, further, home to 115,000 active duty service members. This is outright treason against the people of the United States. We will not allow a wannabe dictator to offer our homes up!

The midterm elections can deliver a resounding defeat to the Republican Party’s white supremacists if we do all we can to defeat them at the ballot box. California could play a major role in defeating the MAGA majority in Congress. We need a massive Get Out the Vote effort to throw Trump’s chosen candidates out of office and start building the people’s agenda.

Register to vote! Check that your voter registration is up to date; don’t assume it is. Sign up at california.ballottrax.net/voter/ to be notified when your ballot is received and counted. Convince everyone you know to complete all these steps. Get involved in phone banking and door knocking with labor, faith, and community groups.

We can stop the chaos, rising prices, and march toward fascism if we get out the vote together, and work to change our society together. Make Trump pay for his inhumanity and high prices. Vote!
