The party of a new type, 100 years later

What does it mean to be a “Communist Party” in the 21st century? The Communist International (known as the Third International or Comintern) was founded in 1919, the same year that our party was founded! Lenin’s concept of the party of a new type written in 1905 was addressed to the specific situation in Russia but evolved as the Communist Parties applied its basic principles to very different conditions. What’s new in the CPUSA’s concept and what remains the same?

This podcast episode celebrates our party’s centennial and analyzes our party’s role within the concept of a “party of a new type” which focuses on uniting the working class and other social forces  in a united front – the basis for leading a movement for revolutionary change; a Bill of Rights Socialist USA.  CPUSA co-chairpersons Rossana Cambron and Joe Sims  answer the hard questions.
