Proposed Resolution: Israel & Palestine

WHEREAS

the recent at negotiating an end to the longstanding Israel-Palestine dispute have ended without any resolution, presenting a danger of new conflict, and

WHEREAS

the attitude of the government of Prime Minister of Israel, Binyamin Netanyahu, and especially the activity of that government in expanding construction in illegal settlements in areas that would be necessary for the creation of a viable Palestinian state, are the main causes of the failure of negotiations, and

WHEREAS

The Palestinian side has taken a series of logical measures to counter the intransigence of the Israeli government, such as signing on to numerous positive international agreements and negotiating for more unity among Palestinians,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED

by the 30th National Convention of the Communist Party USA that we continue to support a two state solution with national rights for Palestinians and security for everybody, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED

that the 30th National Convention of the Communist Party USA deplores the attitude of the Netenyahu government and its allies and enablers in the United States and worldwide, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED

that the 30th National Convention of the Communist Party USA recognizes the right of the Palestinian people to create the governmental and political institutions they choose without danger of interference and repression, and to ratify and participate in all international agreements and conventions they deem necessary, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED

that the 30th National Convention of the Communist Party USA calls for our party to discuss what methods of pressure on both the Israeli and US governments would be useful to resolve this impasse, and

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED

that the 30th National Convention of the CPUSA calls upon its districts, clubs and members to work to actively implement this resolution.
