Proposed Resolution: On “Leninism”

Resolution submitted by the Minnesota/Dakotas District Convention, March 15, 2014

Whereas

the CPUSA was founded upon the ideas and writings of Marx, Engels, and Lenin, and

whereas

our connection with the international Communist movement continues to be based upon these shared principles,

Therefore be it resolved

that we support the retention and preservation of the Leninist component of our tradition, and the use of the term “Marxist-Leninist” when appropriate, and we oppose any removal of the name of Lenin from our Constitution and Party documents.
