Communist Party, USA: Resolution on Industrial Concentration

BY:28th National Convention| July 28, 2005

Whereas, the newly adopted Program of the Party, The Road to Socialism USA, states: in the words of the Communist Manifesto, the working class is the only true revolutionary class because only the working class has no other interest than ending capitalism and replacing it with socialism. These qualities and experiences also make the working class fertile ground for the ideas of socialism and for Marxism and for Communist Party membership; and,

Whereas, historically, the industrial section of the working class has been and continues to be the most advanced section of the class because of its relationship to the means of production;

Therefore be it resolved, that the incoming National Committee and Labor Commission of the Party study, develop, and encourage a serious industrial concentration policy. That policy should include a strategy to aid the labor movementespecially its industrial sectionin organizing the unorganized and in conjunction with this, guidance on how to recruit more basic industry workers (union and non-union) into the party.

Adopted by the 28th National Convention of the Communist Party, USA, Chicago, IL; July 1-3, 2005.
