Greetings from the Japanese Communist Party

On the occasion of the 28th National Convention of the Communist Party, USA, the Central Committee of the Japanese Communist Party sends its congratulations and greetings of solidarity. With relations between the Japanese Communist Party (JCP) and the CPUSA having been normalized two years ago, we are delighted to be able to have a representative in attendance at your National Convention.

With its preemptive attack strategy that sanctions arbitrary use of force, including nuclear weapons, the Bush administration is posing a serious threat to world peace, a manifestation of a defiant attitude toward world opinion expressed at the recent Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference. Our urgent international task is to refuse to allow U.S. unilateral hegemonism and to build a world order characterized by peace based on the principles of the United Nations Charter.

Japan has become a stronghold of the U.S. armed forces conducting overseas operations. The JCP is doing its utmost to thwart maneuvers to mal-revise its peace Constitution. The aim of which is to pave the way for the Self Defense Forces to take part in military operations abroad with the U.S. armed forces.

We hope your Congress will be a success and that we can deepen our cooperation in order to advance world peace and social progress.
